Devoted in the Daily
Daniel 6:10 describes a man under enormous political pressure and personal threat, and his response is quietly extraordinary: "Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before." Just as he had done before. This is the key phrase. Daniel's prayer life did not emerge in the crisis — it was already there. He had a long-established practice of daily, faithful, devoted prayer. The crisis did not change what he did. It revealed what had always been true of him. This is the power of devotion in the daily — the small, consistent practices of faith that, over time, build a life that cannot be shaken by circumstances. Daniel did not pray dramatically. He went to his room, opened his window, got on his knees, and prayed. Three times a day. Nothing flashy. Nothing public. Just faithful. The laws of the Medes and Persians could not stop him because his prayer life was not dependent on favorable conditions. It was simply what he did. How would your faith hold up under crisis? The answer depends almost entirely on what your faith looks like when there is no crisis. The person who prays daily, reads Scripture daily, and practices gratitude daily will find that those habits become anchors when life gets hard. Devotion in the ordinary moments is what produces resilience in the extraordinary ones. Be faithful in the daily. What you do every day determines who you become.
Daniel 6:10
"Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before."
Today's Prayer
Lord, help me to build a daily devotion that runs deeper than my circumstances. On easy days and hard ones, let my habits of prayer, Scripture, and worship remain consistent. Build in me the kind of faith that holds when everything is shaking. Amen.
Today's Action Step
Establish one specific daily spiritual habit this week — same time, same place, same practice. Even 10 minutes of consistent daily devotion can transform your faith over months.

Hope.
Healing.
Empowerment.
