I Am a Witness
Just before Jesus ascended into heaven, He left His followers with a clear description of their identity and mission: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Notice He did not say "you should try to witness." He said "you will be my witnesses." Being a witness is not an optional activity — it is an identity. A witness is simply someone who has seen something and tells others about it. You do not need to be an expert. You do not need a theology degree. You just need to have experienced something real. And if you know Jesus, you have. You have experienced forgiveness. You have experienced peace that made no logical sense. You have experienced answered prayer, unexplainable grace, and the steady presence of a God who did not leave you alone in your darkest moments. That is a testimony. That is what a witness shares. Jesus also mentions geography — Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, the ends of the earth. This is not meant to be a travel itinerary for every believer. It is a picture of expanding influence. Jerusalem is your home, your immediate relationships — the people closest to you. Samaria is the people slightly outside your comfort zone. The ends of the earth represent the global scope of the mission. Start where you are. Be a witness to the people already in your life — your family, your coworkers, your neighbors. You do not have to force it. Just live authentically, love generously, and be ready to tell your story when people ask. They will ask. A life that is genuinely transformed by Jesus eventually makes people curious. Be ready to tell them why. You are a witness. You carry a story the world needs to hear.
Acts 1:8
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Today's Prayer
Holy Spirit, empower me to be a witness today. Give me boldness where I am shy and sensitivity where I rush. Help me to tell my story clearly and naturally, trusting You to work in the hearts of the people who hear it. Make me ready and willing to speak when the moment comes. Amen.
Today's Action Step
Write out your testimony in 3-4 sentences: what your life was like before Christ, how you encountered Him, and what has changed. Keep it simple and personal. Share it with one person this week.

Hope.
Healing.
Empowerment.
