I Am Able
Philippians 4:13 may be the most quoted verse on sports jerseys and gym walls in history: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." It is easy to read this as a motivational slogan — a spiritual pep talk for getting through a hard workout or a tough meeting. But the context of this verse is far more profound. Paul wrote these words from prison. He had experienced poverty, beatings, shipwrecks, and betrayal. He had also experienced abundance, victory, and spiritual highs. His point was not that faith makes you a superhero. His point was that no matter the condition — high or low, easy or hard — he had learned the secret of contentment, and that secret was Christ. The ability Paul describes is not the ability to accomplish anything you set your mind to. It is the ability to persevere through anything life throws at you — because Christ is the source of your strength, not your own willpower. This distinction matters. We can exhaust ourselves trying to manufacture strength we do not have. Or we can learn to draw on the strength that comes from a relationship with the living God. The word "strengthens" in this verse is a continuous action — it is not a one-time power-up but an ongoing strengthening that happens in relationship with Christ. This means your ability is directly connected to your closeness to Him. When you pray, read Scripture, worship, and stay connected to community, you are positioning yourself to receive the strength He provides. And His strength does not run out. He strengthens the weary and gives power to the faint. Whatever you feel unable to face today — a difficult season, a daunting responsibility, a battle that seems too long — you are not left to face it alone. Christ does not just cheer you on from a distance. He strengthens you from the inside. You are more able than you think — not because of who you are, but because of who He is in you.
Philippians 4:13
"I can do all this through him who gives me strength."
Today's Prayer
Lord Jesus, I know I am not strong enough for everything life asks of me. But I believe You are. Strengthen me today with Your power and fill me with endurance I cannot manufacture on my own. Remind me that my ability flows from my connection to You. I choose to trust You in every challenge I face. Amen.
Today's Action Step
Before you begin the hardest task on your plate today, pause for 60 seconds and pray: 'Christ, I need Your strength for this. I am trusting You.'

Hope.
Healing.
Empowerment.
