I Am Becoming
There is a phrase in Philippians 1:6 that should bring enormous relief to every person who feels like they are not yet who they are supposed to be: "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion." The key word is "began." God started something in you. And the God who started it has not walked away from the project. He is still working. This is great news for anyone who looks in the mirror and sees someone unfinished. And if we are being honest, that is all of us. We are all works in progress. We all have areas where we fall short, habits we wish we had broken, character we are still developing, and healing we have not quite reached yet. And sometimes that gap between who we are and who we want to be feels discouraging. But Philippians 1:6 reframes the entire story. God is not finished with you. This is not a passive process — Paul says God will "carry it on to completion." God is actively working in your life, even when you cannot see it. The pressures, the growth opportunities, the moments of failure that produce humility — all of it is part of the process. Becoming is not always comfortable. The potter has to work the clay, apply heat, and shape it carefully. But the end result is something that holds and serves its purpose. You are in that process. You are not a finished product — but you are in the hands of a master craftsman who never abandons His work. The next time you feel discouraged about where you still fall short, remember: you are becoming. The work is not done. But the Worker is faithful. Trust the process. Trust the One running the process. And give yourself grace to still be under construction — because the best is genuinely yet to come.
Philippians 1:6
"...being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
Today's Prayer
Father, thank You that You are not finished with me. Where I feel discouraged by my lack of growth or my repeated failures, remind me that You are still working. Give me patience with myself and trust in Your process. I want to become all that You made me to be. Amen.
Today's Action Step
Write down one area in your life where you are growing — even slowly. Acknowledge the progress, no matter how small, and thank God for it.

Hope.
Healing.
Empowerment.
