I Am Free
Jesus said something on a day when he was face to face with people who prided themselves on their heritage and religious tradition: "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." The word "indeed" is emphatic. It means truly, actually, completely free. Not partially free. Not conditionally free. Free. But what kind of freedom is Jesus talking about? In context, He is talking about freedom from sin — not just forgiveness for past sins, but freedom from the control that sin has over your life. Every person who does not know Jesus, He says, is a slave to sin. Not because God is harsh, but because that is simply how sin works. It promises freedom and delivers chains. It invites you in and then locks the door. Many people have experienced this — the habit they could not break, the pattern they kept repeating, the cycle they could not escape no matter how hard they tried. That is what Jesus came to break. And when He sets you free, He does not give you a pardon with conditions attached. He sets you truly free. Now, freedom in Christ is not the freedom to do whatever we want. That kind of freedom is actually another form of slavery — to our own appetites. True freedom is the freedom to become who we were made to be, to live the life we were designed for, to walk in love and purpose rather than bondage and shame. Freedom in Christ is also a daily experience, not just a one-time event. You were set free at the cross — but you also "walk in freedom" as an ongoing posture. You choose, each day, to walk in what Christ already won for you. Today, you are free. Not just from judgment, but from the grip of sin, shame, and the false identities that once held you. Walk in it.
John 8:36
"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
Today's Prayer
Jesus, thank You for setting me truly free. Where chains still linger in my heart — habits, shame, old patterns — I invite Your freedom into those places today. Help me not to return to what You have already broken, but to walk fully in the freedom You won for me. Amen.
Today's Action Step
Identify one area where you have not been walking in the freedom Christ provides. Today, take one step toward living free in that area — confess it, seek accountability, or make a decision you have been avoiding.

Hope.
Healing.
Empowerment.
