After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to His disciples and said something that reordered everything: "As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." Let those words sink in. The same sending that brought the Son of God from the throne of heaven into human history — that same kind of intentional, purposeful, love-driven sending is what Jesus declares over His followers. You are not here by accident. You are sent. This changes everything about how we see ordinary life. A sent person looks at their neighborhood and sees a mission field, not just a zip code. A sent person looks at their job and sees an assignment, not just a paycheck. A sent person looks at their family and sees people they have been specifically placed to love, serve, and point toward God. The Father sent Jesus on a mission of rescue — to seek and save the lost, to heal the sick, to preach the good news to the poor, to set the captives free. And Jesus says, with that same intentionality, that same divine purpose: I am sending you. This also means you are equipped for what you are being sent to do. Jesus did not send the disciples out empty-handed — He breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit." The same Spirit that filled Jesus for His mission is given to those He sends. You are not sent in your own strength. You are sent with His. Being sent does not always look dramatic. Most of the time it looks like showing up consistently, loving persistently, and staying faithful to the relationships and responsibilities God has placed in front of you. It looks like caring about the person next to you enough to pray for them, to ask about their life, to offer help when it is needed. Start where you are. You are sent there on purpose.
