Second Corinthians 9:8 is one of the most generous promises in Scripture: "And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." Every good work requires resources — energy, time, finances, creativity, emotional capacity. And for a person living a poured-out life, the natural question is: where does the replenishment come from? Here is the answer: God. He is able to bless abundantly — not sparingly, not barely enough, but abundantly. And His stated purpose for that abundance is that you will abound in every good work. He fills you in order to pour through you. This is the gracious logic of the poured-out life. You are not the source of what you give. You are the channel. God pours into you so that you can pour into the world. And the channel does not run dry when it stays connected to the source. The danger for generous, serving people is burnout — the exhaustion that comes from giving out more than is coming in. But the promise of this verse is that God's supply is not limited by your natural capacity. His grace is sufficient. His generosity does not run out. When you are connected to Him and living in the flow of His purposes, He ensures you have what you need — "in all things at all times." This does not mean life has no hard seasons. It means God is a faithful replenisher. He does not call you to give what He is not willing to supply. Pour out freely, then come back to the Source to be refilled. He will not disappoint.
