Steward of Moments
Paul's instruction in Ephesians 5:15-16 feels remarkably contemporary: "Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil." Making the most of every opportunity. The phrase can also be translated "redeeming the time" — buying back or making the best use of the time given to you. Time is the great equalizer. Every person on earth receives the same 24 hours in a day. The difference between people who live with purpose and people who feel perpetually unfulfilled often comes down to this: what they do with their moments. Moments are the building blocks of days. Days are the building blocks of years. Years are the building blocks of a life. The way you use your moments is, in a very real sense, the way you are using your life. A poured-out life is one that is intentional about time — not anxiously productive, not wringing joy out of every minute, but wisely invested. It means choosing, when you have a free hour, to invest it in something that matters rather than simply defaulting to consumption. It means being present with the people in front of you rather than distracted by the phone in your pocket. It means recognizing that the conversation you are in might be the most important meeting of your day even if it was not on your calendar. Making the most of every opportunity requires paying attention — to people, to moments, to the whisper of the Spirit who says, "This. Right here. This is the moment." Be a good steward of your moments today. Time is the one resource you cannot get back.
Ephesians 5:15-16
"Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil."
Today's Prayer
Lord, help me to steward my time wisely — not anxiously, but intentionally. Show me today where my moments are being wasted and where they could be invested. Give me eyes to see the opportunities in front of me. Amen.
Today's Action Step
Track how you use your time for one day this week — even just roughly. Look for one 30-minute block that is being wasted and redirect it toward something that genuinely matters.

Hope.
Healing.
Empowerment.
