The God Who Guides
There is a promise tucked into Isaiah 30 that feels almost too good to be true: "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way; walk in it.'" The context is important. God was speaking to a people who had repeatedly ignored His guidance and run off in their own direction. They had suffered real consequences for it. Yet even in that moment, God's response was not to withdraw His guidance but to promise something more personal and more direct: a voice. Your own ears. This is the way — walk in it. One of the most common anxieties among sincere followers of Jesus is the fear of missing God's will. People lie awake wondering if they made the wrong choice, took the wrong job, stayed in the wrong city. And while it is wise to seek God's direction, we sometimes forget that God is a better communicator than we give Him credit for. He wants you to know His will more than you want to know it. He is not playing hide and seek with your purpose. He is a guide who speaks. He guides through Scripture — His written Word is filled with wisdom and direction for every area of life. He guides through prayer — when you quiet yourself before Him, the Spirit speaks. He guides through godly counsel, through circumstances, and yes, sometimes through that inner voice that Isaiah describes. The key is staying close enough to hear. A person who never listens will miss the guidance that is being offered. Slow down today. Turn down the noise. Get close enough to the Shepherd to hear His voice. He knows exactly where you are going, and He is ready to lead you there.
Isaiah 30:21
"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way; walk in it.'"
Today's Prayer
Father, I want to hear Your voice more clearly. Quiet the noise in my life that drowns You out. Help me to listen — through Your Word, through prayer, and through the gentle prompting of Your Spirit. Lead me today and I will follow. Amen.
Today's Action Step
Spend ten minutes in silence today — no phone, no music, no background noise. Simply listen and write down anything that comes to mind as you rest in God's presence.

Hope.
Healing.
Empowerment.
